Guides to help people representing themselves

Video Guides

On the Page “Video Guides” there are some videos that are a very good place to start and provide a good introduction to attending the Family court. You can go to that page by clicking here or from the menu on the left, under the ‘Court Users’ tab.

Note for Self Represented Partes - Children

This Guide is for people who are involved in proceedings involving disputes about with whom a child should live or how much time they should spend with each parent or relative. If you are coming to Court without a lawyer, it is a good place to start as it explains the procedure and what to expect. The document is in PDF format and will open another webpage.

Guide for separated parents: children and the family courts

The Government has also produced a guide for separated parents who are not represented - Form CB7. The document is in PDF format and will open another web page.

Note for Self Represented Partes - Finances

This Guide is for people who are involved in proceedings involving disputes about finances during or after a divorce i.e. how the assets are divided and who pays for what. The document is in PDF format and will open another webpage.
